you think you'd be able to add it in?
 
This would indeed be much better with voice acting. I think we may actually go with the idea we originally thought of. As in making the voices an overlaying channel of the music playing in the background. If needed, I could do this.
 
Well here is wat I say. Your welcome Zypher, it was a very good pic and had its place. When you can Zypher, please finish and upload that pic so I can finish off the video, as you can see its almost complete. I have given the deadline 1-2 weeks so you have time.

Thanks to Windows Movie Maker, I can go back and change the video, publish it again and convert to .bik for use in the game, so dont fret.

And Al, I too would prefer narration so if you can please take care of the narration side and merge it with the chosen music that would be awesome. As BnW2 requires ogg vorbis files, I dont have the means of converting this file over.

ok onto progress, I love reporting stuff and since theres not much to do while waiting, I thought Id get started on the Verdant Epic Miracle that will feature in this game. Below is a screenshot of its early stages.

 
Audacity can convert to/from OGG Vorbis.

So can a lot of programs but that's the first to come to mind :(

btw what's the verdant miracle wonder look like?  Or is it still the same as in the first post? (that was a while ago so I dunno, maybe it's different by now.)
 
ooh! the meracle looks quite cool!!

perhapse make it so rthat the middle of the strands of light are a brighter color that fades into a darker color near the edges, or the reverse...

and there could be tiny orbs of light circulateingh in it's center, like protons and electrons in an atom...

I will finish the pic as soon as possible...

It will seem unfinished because I am missing a couple things but expect this to be in the beta and final product. Also please note that the video capture program I use tends to cut things out because it uses alot of resources.

Do you guys remember the verdant miracle from BoTG. Well this is almost its mirror image but on a larger scale. Unfortunately you wont get to see this til the last few lands of the game. Its an epic beyond the player's reach and as stated in the outline of the story, only accessible and used by the goddess.

EDIT: The verdant is made up of a number of existing visual effects. Salvaged from the volcano, hurricane epics and land portals, theres a lovely command in there that allows you to change the color of different visual effects. This is presently noticed in the God AI, a gods hand visual effect color uses this command.

However the first land of the game will be a cinema landscape much like land 2 of BnW2 campaign.

Heres a spoiler, resist if you dare for it reveals a major part of the storyline. Can you resist.  :p

The first land of the game will in fact be a flashback of the last land, you will get to see what happens to the player in the end, also it will be in the 3rd perspective so yes, for the first time ever you can see youself as the player in 3rd perspective.

Ah yea guys of the team, if you want to have a go at the beta before its released, I will send a copy of it your way. Ignore the ship when u try to move it onto the landscape, Im playing with the nav map so the script recognizes the position you are directing the ship to is not navigatable not being a position over the water, the rest of it is fine though.

I was thinking about disabling the verdant epic to play around with but you might get lucky.  :p

Anyways, I'll post something again soon.

i have to admit that when i first saw this i thought it was just a map or something, but i tried it (v4 beta) and it was great!!! i cant WAIT for the next release!!!!

ps: you guys at ogam are welcome to use any of my middle earth mods.

Hmm i wanted to ask...in the full verison of OGAM

will you add the gorilla and tiger to the creature selection?  :p

I just downloaded the old ToTC I had a while and from developing this game now, it makes ToTC look like junk. I cant believe how much different the 2 games are and how far we've come. This game is only under-development because of the fans. Of the people who still enjoy Black & White 2.

And Luke yes, the tiger will be but the gorilla will not. In fact now that you mention it I might add the Tiger to this beta, I never thought of that until you asked.  :)  :p

Still 1 week is not that far away and I cant wait myself. Oh and by the way to the landscapers of the team. Tutorial Island is closing in on its finish, if you guys can please finish any maps you are working on and send em over to me thanks so I can get started on the scripting. The next phase begins soon, the story and watching this game really turn into a game.  :)

 
Generally I thought he would mean the undead gorilla. Ive never been able to script in a gorilla creature(from BnW2) before unless it took over one of the other creature models, I'll look into it anyway.
 
I meant the gorilla as in the aztec gorilla, yeah erm in one of kays maps i was able to pick the gorilla, ape, cow,wolf ,tiger and lion. :p
 
A gorilla would be generally easy to script in, you would just change the creature select script slightly by adding an extra creature. Not that i am part of OGaM or anything, but it would be easily possible.
 
Silly me, yes I can add the gorilla and will do so.  :p

Since the CS script is generalised, a little modification to add these 2 creatures, they will follow the others and perform their specific animations.  :)

 
I think the 6-7 creatures including turtle, however we know turtle is on expansion, anyway are you going to make it so there are 3 to start of with then unlock the others through quest?
