Dear mister Mister T Tummy Tums, Kayssplace does not support cracked versions, or condone cracking black & white.


If you want maximum enjoyment from the game, purchase it.

However, if  this works for you, congratulations! - patching a cracked version has been deemed impossible, if not highly improbable by all others before you who tried.

Results: Don't work with cracked versions, people with cracked versions, I'm sorry for ya.
It will install for crack, but won't run. So, yeah. Time wasted. 'n'ways, I'll just get my cd version =)

As no-CD cracks are illegal, it makes perfect sense that the official patches do not work on them.

Kayssplace does not support no-CD cracks, so as you say, you'll just have to get the CD version.

There are some exceptions - such as if you own the disk already, but most people just download the cracked game to avoid buying it.

Admittedly, this could be due to the fact that it's hard to find places that sell the disks any more.  In either case, the cracked game isn't supported.

Error prevents me from installing the patch:
"Old file not found. However, a file of the same name was found. No update done since contents do not match."
Then one after that:
"Black and White could not be patched at this location."
Help?

if you have trhe cracked version you have two options for installing. either uninstall the game, and re install but before you replace the runblack file you install the patches. or if you have the old version of the file, just replace the new version of the run black. thst all you gotta do signed up and everything to tell you folks.i will add that i have bought about three copies of this game, and that my last one met a sad fate when i moved. so on my new computer i have a cracked version

I also have copies of B&W1 "both versions"    yep I got B&W1 in the white sleeved box and the wife bought me the black sleeved version for my birthday. I didn't have the heart to tell her that it's the same game inside on the CD just the cover is reversed.

Jump ahead to 2007 my last B&W1 CD has started  to have  stress flaws  so I change over to nocd.

I do have an old PC that I keep just for old games and  B&W1 runs flawlessly with the 1.20 patch and Myth 1.2 nocd patch.

While I do understand  the reason  Kayssplace has the no-piracy policy but  if the game/s are no longer available "new" at original or discounted price, then if a user buys a used copy the original serial having been used then they are using an illegal copy as each serial number was logged to a user account (before commercial interest vanished)  .

I just wonder where new members are meant to come from ?

NoCDs aren't piracy, they're really convenient for users. Heck I've not had a DVD drive in my PC for years; torrent the ISO, use my CD key and then nocd patch it works great as far as can be said for this game.

No CD's are a way around the game  manufactures check for a legal copy.
Now if you own  an original physical CD and manual and use a nocd patch that is technically illegal but  99.99% you could not or will not be prosecuted.
If you bought a digital version of the game then the NOCD patch would not be required.
If you "torrent" a game then use a "keygen" and/or "nocd" then that is piracy and 100% illegal.

The game is now so little used now that  as long as you don't actually promote  torrents nobody really cares.

@ H Matt your older relations must really love you some of mine  have just updated from VCR to DVD and no internet so  family photos/ videos  are not passed around ?  or do you use paper.

NoCD cracks aren't illegal at all, if they were that would be a crazy lack of freedoms, its like saying its illegal to jailbreak a phone you own (which it isn't), its your property, you can do what you want.

As for anything I want to share I just use USB thumb drives or email, I trained my relatives well ahah.
