Just to add to Jaden's comments. If there was a problem with the CD then usually it won't even install the game. Typically, you'll get a CRC (cyclic redundancy check) error.
What can happen though is that a file in the game becomes corrupt and causes problems. All that the No-CD crack does is replace runblack.exe. If another file is corrupt, then it won't help any.
@ T-man a crack is a version of the game (or main executable file) which circumvents the copyright protection. These are illegal and shouldn't be discussed here.
Ahh. Over where I mostly stay we call that a hack.
Anyway, I did as directed, but when it tried to save, it crashed!
However, when I tested it on a new profile, it saves! ???
EDIT: Methinks that, because B&W saves using regersteries, then it's them. One of them became corruput, breaking the Saving system.
When I did it on my Test Profile, it gave me the box like I'd already beaten the game on it! So, I just wanna know if I can move my Creature into my new profile? I wouldn't mind losing my saves, but I refuse to lose Forklier! (My creature)
Hacking is a general term used in regard to modifying files and it doesn't always have bad connotations. The term crack is used when copyright protection is circumvented.
You probably have a corrupt profile then.
If you do have a backup of the creaturemind folder, look under "Lost Creatures" in the below link to recover your creature.
