Hi!

I have Black And White. I made sure my machine could take it, and that I had what I needed to play. I installed my game, installed all offical patches/Creatures/Offical add-ons. All seemed fine, untill, about 3-4 days into playing, it stopped saving. As in, when I or the game tried to save, it Crashed To Desktop!  Natrually, I got on the EA support Website. First, they thought I needed help Installing the game, but it had gone fine. Then they told me to run it in Compatability Mode, for 98. Guess what? It didn't even open!  When I run it in Windows 2000 Compatability Mode, it lets me save... for a bit. After 3-4 saves of any kind, Crash goes the game!

What's your operating system, in fact what's your system specs? And which patch are you using?



 
First of all.... do you have XP, a high video card and memory, is your cd old and chek your computer for viruses bad things happened to my BnW when i hadnt known i had a virus
 
Also don't forget to shut down virus scanners etc. If you are struggling try to set the game as the high priority, to do this go to task manager, processes, then find bw.exe (something like that), right click, set priority, then set high.

Grr, where to begin..? I decided a Backup and uninstall/reinstall might help..
I patched to V1.2... And it stopped running! My logo before LIONHEAD pops up is a small white square. It goes to the Tip of the Day, then crashes to desktop! So I completly uninstalled, did a defragmentation, deleted the Lionhead Studios Ldt folder, and tried again. The non-patched works, V1.1 says Acess is denied in installation, V1.2 does the same as before!  :banghead

So, ATM, I have the no-patch version

Well you have more than enough stuff to run the game, but I don't know if any of the hardware isn't compatible with B&W or anything.

But are you on an administer account?  It's never said access is denied for me when patching, but I run all my stuff on an admin account, so...

Edit: In response to the image, try to rename the LHLogR file and if you can, undo the rename.  If you can, I'm not sure why it won't work.

If you can't, you're probably not on an admin account, or maybe something's using the file (the dll).

(I tell you to rename it because I don't remember how to check account types, lol :()
 
I can't rename it, but I am on a admin account (We have two accounts, this Admin one, and Guest.. Guess which one we use)

EDIT: Wow. Black and White really hates me. I tried to play, and guess what? I get this!  :cmad
 
Better name that file back to what it was.

What operating system are you using and what's your video card? ???
 
But, I couldn't rename it, so I am guessing some program is using it, but which would use a B&W file, aside from B&W?

Windows XP, SP2... ECS Radeon Xpress 200 series, says the Device Manager
 
Did you mount/crack it??? I think the problem is your CD i many games of of mine dint work because of my CD.
 
Mount or crack it? Well, I'll assume you mean is it scrached... nope, all clean!

I don't know what mount/crack it means!
 
...........how could you not know....... i think its not working cuz you dint crack and you dint know what it means...and as for the CD sometimes CD's dont work even if its not scratched 
The Crack is the thing you find in the crack folder copy and paste it to the BnW folder mounting is a process which you need Daemon Tools for
 
How old are you?? I'm only ten but i know what a crack/mounting is..
 
Irk! Ack! Dack! Guess what I just did? I went back to my files and noticed somthing.. odd. Namely, I don't have a Lhlog.dll file! So now I need to locate a Lhlog.dll file and replace mine! If anyone knows how to get one or any info on it, assistance would be appreated!
 
I don't think his BW is pirate JumpDin, cos as he stated on the first post, he could play it before, which means he didn't need to crack anything. >:D

T-man, i'd help you... if i had BW installed in my pc right now :P
 
Try Uninstalling the game, delete all of the folders annd then run a defrag on that drive.

Re-install the game and only the V1.20 patch. See if it runs like that for a while before installiing any of the add-ons.
 
That was before...Now is after... I really think Kay's tip will work but if not, ITS THE CD!!!
