i opened the lobby thing am i supposed to hit start server?

No, you just use the client.

input the ip address in the first tab and make sure the check boxes are unchecked on the second tab.
 
omg...i think my internet might be messed up -_-


i'm supposed to use the 6012 port right?
 
No, use the client only. No ports need to be forwarded.
 
idk all the boxes are checked, i have the right ip (are there spaces in the ip between the numbers and the periods?), i don't know what's wrong

Socket error on Connect: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond: 10060

No spaces in the IP address and leave the port set at 6012
 
What's the problem?

Do you have a fiirewall. Make sure it will allow both runblack.exe and the cient access to the web.
 
lol how do you grant it access? oh and kays i put what it says when i try to connect in my earlier post does it tell you anything?
 
I turn my firewall off completely.
But that is kind of a risk... so its your call there.
 
i don't know how to turn it off/on lol i'm not really great with computers i just know how to use the internet and play games and type stuff...
 
It shouldn't be too hard, but you need to find it.
If its on the taskbar then just right-click it and there should be a shut down option.

I warn you again... it is a risk.
 
I think that it means that it can't find the server.
Each firewall is different to configure. With mine I had to Alt-tab out and click on a dialog box which had popped up to allow it. You shud be able to find a list of all of the allowwed/disallowed apps in one of the firewall settings.

Now, on the client in the first tab input the IP address and make sure that the boxes are unchecked on the second tab.
 
I ahev the second box checked on mine.
Maybe that would make a difference?
