To be honest these look really good.

SkelApe I dont really want to take all your landscapes cause it doesnt seem right to me :p. However that norse land looks really good and I guess the only thing I would like to change is the mountain texture to something more vibrant to blend in with the snow and give the transition effect between the grass and mountain. Good Job btw! :D

Jaden apart from the massive layout of this landscape, it really only needs a little touch-up with the textures and the spruce up of OGaM's pre-built sky and water effects as you can see from land 1. This is also a really good effort. :D

And now to the usefulness part. Any landscapes that people wouldnt mind me using will be succumbed to the story of the game, so at some point it will play a major role and host the continuing fight between the player and its partial new enemy.

Quick question... because i really want to make a OGaM map as well.
Do we need to add the script to get all buildings or does the team do stuff like that?
:/
A better question is do we start out with everything from the tribute menu? :S
Because if i make a map i dont want it to be impossible to play on. =/ lol

The team will take care of all scripting, just give us the land, and we'll do deal with it from there.

Now, on another note, since I'm writing the Storyline/Script of the game, I would really like to see a lot of the landscapes, and the ones Daxter chooses, so that I know what I'm working with, and know the limitations of my storyline.

Think a multiplayer map sounds good? lmao.

Thats what i was just making...
Are you guys still planning on having multiplayer?  :woot

And if you arent planning on MP yet its probably an okay Single Player Volcano map xD

But i dont know how to add flying lava... Do you think you guys could do that? :/
I will add the texture but not sure about the flying lava....

oh!

I get it now!

you should see some screenshots of draknor and afew of my other lands by monday. :yes

:yourock:

by the way, your evil map looks realy cool skelape!

Alkatraz speaks the truth. Since any maps chosen will be used for the game, when the scripting comes around for that land it is as normal to have certain standard game commands imbedded into it to clear things like stuck objects, unlocking certain parts of the tribute and even removing the fade effect at the start.

Any map makers which do get their maps through, I say thank you for your contribution towards this project and so far I have seen some great maps.

Hey Dax. You know that you want to open .lug music files? Can you not use the format .ogg instead? I dont know an awful lot about this, i was just wondering, because that format is compatible with the game; i suppose speech can be added to those files aswell. Ive found this program which i think is quite popular. Its called Audacity, and you can import .lug files (cant export as .lug though) although you can export a creation as .ogg , so it might just be possible to add speech to OGaM. Just an idea  :)

:help

I  have the screens saved to my pictures, but for some reason my computer takes forever to log into fourms, so I waited about 3 hours to log into photobucket to upload the screens, but I gave up after that, andthen I tried loging in here at kayssplace on my computer (I am using my mother's right now), and I waited for about an hour and gave up...

I don't know iff it's part of the virus that is hideing or anything, because I scaned my computer with avg and it said no threats were found... :suspect

any sugestions?

:help

Hey skel it does sound like an idea but I dont see how it would work since .wav inside the lug files are the only format that work with the game, also if we are to play scene music in-game we wouldnt be able to if we played dialogue at the same time. Good thought though.

Zypher, what OS are u using? If it is Vista I have noticed alot of ppl I know have some kind of virus and Windows Defender or AVG(or any virus scanner) cannot seem to find it. I dont really know wat you can do about this but maybe try askin the troubleshooting for Microsoft and see if they can help.

B&W2 Does read .ogg files; if you look in the audio >> music folder, theres alot of sub-folders with .ogg files in them, so i think the game recognises them. just a thought =)

Sorry that didnt seem to be what I meant. That was supposed to say that .wave files in the lug archives are the only format that the game would be able to use for speech so playing music files(.ogg) would mean it would not be possible to sync play dialogue. Once again good thought.  :D

no, I figured it out, it's just a bad wireless internet conection, which I will be fixing soon by moveing my computer closer to the router... in the meantime I have been able to upload one pic out of 7 onto photobucket...

this is my map called draknor, a norse land, but I am currently working on a japaneese land with much beter texturing that you may also want for OGAM... I will post more pics as soon as I can upload em!

In response to that. How well does OGaM betas run on your current pc. Does is present any lag, or plenty or is everything smooth? If not then your pc whatever components that you have will suit the requirements to play this game.

sorry I haven't posted more pics... I've been away... I'll try to post more in afew days when I heve acess to m computer... I'm staying at my mom's house right now...

ok, here are some more screens...

draknorscreen2.jpg

draknorscreen5.jpg

and finaly an overview...

draknorscreen6.jpg

is it any good?

would you like to have it in OGAM?

if not, I have some otrher maps too...

I'm not the landscaper of the team, but that looks pretty good. We'll probably take it and do some touch-ups to it, but other than that, it looks great to me. I could make quite a storyline for this land...

OMG what can I say, that looks fantastic. Where have u all secret landscapers been hiding?  :p

Anyway great attempt and as usual as long as the sky or water hasnt been changed then thats pretty darn good, all we need to do is spruce up the water and sky with OGaM's built-in stuff(loaded by default) and it will be good to go.  :D
