I'm wondering if you use the Creature Changer tool for changing your creature might it "malfunct" your creature anyhow? I lately made a new profile in B&W and wanted to give it a go training a ape :P it's fun and he really learns everything so quick, also I turn so much attention on the creature. Although I love wolves...! And I was thinking if I choose the Creature Changer will it make my creature to behave completely different from previous? It is a wolf afterall but all the actions that I teached my creature as a ape will be transfered on the wolf and will he then know them as well after I use it?

I'm using patch 1.20 but on the Creature Changer it says it's for B&W 1.1 and CI 1.23 (I have no idea if it matters or not but want to be sure)

Also I'm in Land 3 in the "mission mode" and I was wondering is there any way obtaining Wolf legally? I finished everything on the Land 2 and unlocked the Zhevra too.

There is a challenge on the next land that allows you to switch to the Wolf, I am not familiar with Creature Changers so I can not help you in that respect.

Hehe thanks for the information, now I'm thinking there is a challange for each creature in the game :p even ogre...?

But what I mainly wonder about will everything that you teached to your creature so far will be transfered over to the new creature? (fishing, raising totem and such things..) or will it get a new clear mind? That's what bothers me the most.

That will depend on how you changed him. If in-game then all that he'll loose is a wee bit of height.

If you're using a creature changer and switching to a dumber (relatively speaking) creature. Then he will loose some of his learnt knowledge.

Basically a good way to do it is:
1) download the leopard and change your current creature in-game at the breeders hut in land 1 or 4.
2) after you have the leopard with ALL of the previous creatures knowledge, then its safe to use the creature changer. Using this method will ensure that all of the knowledge is preserved. All previous skills, miracles etc will be kept exactly the same. This happens because, in short, the leopard is the dumbest creature. If you wanna know the specifics of how the changer works with forgetting knowledge, read the 9th post here: http://www.bwfiles.com/boards/index.php?topic=4552.0

So basically to preserve all your creatures knowledge, change to the leopard and THEN use the creature changer on the leopard.

Hehe :p wow. Readed the 9th topic - science. I will keep this in my mind, after I teached my ape everything there is available then I'll try this out. Going to back up the files before I do it which I so often forget :D

Thanks for the tips guys!

I.M.O there should be a wiki for B&W :p I was trying to search for one but didn't find anything. The game has so many "secrets" and facts / myths if you want to know about something then you gotta look for different places in internet and there is not that much information either. Maybe after some time someone wants to gather all the information into one spot and write it all down that would be neat.

Found a Wiki, needs more information though...  http://blackandwhite.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page

That Leopard trick doesn't work for me, for some reason. It also takes a long time to do, because you have to close the game and open it again at least twice.

Heres something no one has mentioned yet, probably because no one has changed creatures as much as me. I've changed a lot to do extensive testing on how each creature works.
When you change your creature, their innate personality stays intact. Not a thing about it will change. I know this because I used BwBackup to make a copy of my fully grown Ape. Now every new creature I raise is an edited version of him. Sadly, he has some bad traits that come from being raised in the Extreme Growth Map. 1) He's lazy. Very. This is because all there was to do is sleep on that island. 2) He doesn't feed himself well. This is because he often either overate or didn't eat at all, on that island. So I usually had to feed him, myself. 3) He only sleeps in the pen, and only at night. This is good when raising the creature, but not so useful when they are full grown and end up having to walk all the way back home just for a minute of rest.
But both trait 1 and 2, as well as the night time thing, can be changed, as I've proven with my most recent wolf, who only ate at 30% hunger and NEVER slept unless I told him to or he was hurt.

Now, keep in mind, when I say "personality" I mean things like the above. The deciding factors that determine the chances of your creature performing certain actions or changing their personalities DO change when you change the creature type. Their abilities such as learning rate and speed also change. Sadly, their strength stays the same as it was before the change(I'm not talking about initial strength, by the way.) My ape ended up with a 2% strength rating by the time he was grown up, so now all my creatures are very weak when I start with them, even Tigers and Lions.  :angry
