Unload the debugger and try again

I keep getting this message "Unload the debugger and try again" no matter what I try to do.
I have uninstalled, full wipe, defraged the HD, reinstall, download a fresh patch, set compatibility to Windows 2000, run as administrator and I still am getting that message. Any advice? It's driving me nuts, I love this game and have been trying to figure out what to do.

I'm not the expert on all this, but to clarify one or two things:

• Which game is it you're trying here, i.e. B&W1, CI, etc.?
• Where does this message pop up?
• Does it stop the game entirely?
• Original version or patched?
• If patched, what version?

- B&W1
- It won't load at all, just stops at the very beginning with the message after you click the B&W icon.
-both original and then tried it with patch, same thing happens
-my original disk has 1.1 on it, then when same thing happens with 1.2

I'm running a little windows system with vista.

Well you've tried a lot of the usual bits of advice I've seen given, so perhaps someone who's had more experience getting B&W working on Vista can help.

Anyone?

I had loads of problems with  Vista64 but fixed it  with a very similar method to this solution for W7 .......
