This Tutorial explain, why you can make from a dark landscape, who you have made with LND-Romat a light world.

Step 1:
At first you make a map with the LND-Romat! En my Tutorial, the map is named "Tutorialmap1.lnd"

When you test the map, on the complette map is a big shadow.

When you are good and zoom to your tempel, the world is very dark, like black.

The map with BWSurveyor

Step 2:
Make a copy from the map. I have called the copy "Tutorialmap1b.lnd".
Open the copy of the map with the BWSurveyor, switch to  the "Mode land editor" and make a "Level Height" on the complete map with "Level Map" to a height of 0.

Step 3a:
Make a copy from ""Tutorialmap1b.lnd". I have called the copy "Tutorialmap1c.lnd". Open the copy with a Hexeditor. I have used XV132, because this Hexeditor is good for this. Search the Hex String "00 00 00 00 00 00 90 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 90". At next go to the red Hexnumber. Make a note from the Address of the Hexnumber. In my tutorial the Address is 305CC. Then you must replace all "00 00 00 00 00 00 90 00" with "00 00 00 XX 00 XX 90 00" *. When you replace the Hex Strings with XV132, you must have selected "Begin" at Scope from. Then you click on "Replace all".

Then you go back to the Address 305CC.
Now you replace all "00 00 00 00 00 00 10 00" at this positionwith "00 00 00 XX 00 XX 10 00"* .

*The XX is a number between 00 and FF. 00 is for maximum darkness and FF is for maximum lightness. You can choose how light or dark you map should have. In my example I have used the maximum lightness.

Step 4:
Make a copy from "Tutorialmap1c.lnd". I have called the copy "Tutorialmap1d.lnd". Open the copy of the map with the BWSurveyor, switch to the "Mode land editor" and make a "Level Height" on the complete map with "Level Map" to a any height, who is higher than 3.

Step 5:
Download the Andux's Land Tools.
Open the "Tutorialmap1d.lnd" with lnd-bdd.exe and use all three options. In this Tutorial I have choose for option 1 the name "BigMap1.raw", for option 2 the name "BigMap2.raw" and option 3 the name "BigMap3.raw".

Step 6:
At next open the first map "Tutorialmap1.lnd" with the lndsert.exe and choose a savename for this map. In this tutorial I have choose "Finalmap.lnd" as a savename. You must replace the altitude data, the country data and the cell split data. For option 1 you choose the "BigMap1.raw" file, for option 2 the "BigMap2.raw" file and for option 3 the "BigMap3.raw" file.
After this you use the option 4 and the option 5.

Step 7:
Open the "Finalmap.lnd" with the BWSurveyor and switch to the "Mode land editor". Now you must only save the map, to customize the texture data of the map.
That was all. Now you can finish you map.

Wow, that is pretty impressive. Thanks for posting it. :)

Thanks to a user for finding this problem:

In Step 3a is a little mistake!
That user have found, that in some maps the 90 and the 10 from the Hexstrings not work.
He have opened one of this mapfiles and have found the mistake.
Instead of 90 there are 91 and instead of 10 there is 11.

So when "00 00 00 00 00 00 90 00" does not work, you must try it with ""00 00 00 00 00 00 91 00". and for "00 00 00 00 00 00 10 00" you must try it with "00 00 00 00 00 00 11 00".
