trouble with strength training..

Hello again,

it seems i'm having big problems with strength training my now-giant turtle. He's weak (40% strength) and it takes a long time to train him.

1. One possible reason is that he's slow at walking, and thus the distance covered takes a longer time. Can anyone confirm this? (that a faster walking speed equates to faster strength building?)

2. And secondly, just any additional tips anyone can help me out with in regards to strength training your creature? i've tried casting on him a strength miracle but he still cant lift a heavier object..

3. Any huge maps that have plenty of rocks lying around to recommend? with a big turtle, he only have to walk a few steps to cover a regular sized island, and thus more clicking for me...  :no

Anyways thanks once again!

1- Nop, don't think so, i had a cow that was slow as a slug, but her strenght was 100%.

2- Try making he walk more time with the rock in his hand.

3- Don't know any huge maps  :no

Why don't you try making a huge flat island with some rocks for training your turtle?

For a start, doon't let his hunger drop below 50% and keep his fat level up

Kilroys Training Grounds as well as my training map have various sizes rocks in them for that purpose. A creature won't pick up a rock that's too large. So get him to pick up the largest he can and run him around the island while he's carrying it.  If he's not full grown, you can do a Increase Size miracle on him so he can pick up a larger rock. He'll shrink but will still be able to carry it. Just don't let him die when he's carrying too large a rock.

Yep i've gotten both your maps already. But they are rather small.. A giant turtle wouldnt take very long to reach end-to-end..

Heheh but thanks for all the quick replies! I love this forum. :woot

Oh by the way Kays, your map and kilroys' contain some big rocks lined up in order of size.. But my giant turtle can only lift the 3rd largest rock. Will he ever be able to carry the largest? He's full grown..

If not, why are they there? =P

And i kinda like the size of 'blue ice' map, but it has no rocks... grrrr..

The larger rocks are too large for any creature and need to be broken up. I think the ones on Kilroy's are even larger than the ones on my map.

Run him around on the shoreline. Once around my map is usually good for about a 30% increase if I remember right. Kilroys is a bit smaller.

Btw, you can write rocks into a map. You just need to find the rocks in another map, copy that over and change the location.

Here's a good tip for training creature strength faster I used to do it all the time.

First go on some map like Kilroy's Training ground use the creature growth miracle on your turtle, give him largest rock he can get, now don't let him drop it until the miracle wears off, now go and get the shrink creature miracle and use it on him, try and see if you can rapid-click-spam it on him to get 2-3 uses out of one miracle if it worked this will make things alot easier, now just have him run to your temple and then once he's there make him run all the way to the other side of the map, on the beach behind the enemy's temple. He should super tiny and still carrying a enourmous rock, I don't know why but this boosts strength like crazy.

HI ALL!

I just taken Sparkster's advice. It works!

My turtle used to lose strength as fast as he gains it.. I guess it was because a large turtle takes big slow steps.

So Sparkster's advice was to make your creature carry something, then shrink him, and then click a new destination for him to walk (eg. the edge of the island). You will notice that he walks slower than normal.

After a while, he'll revert back to his giant self...But take note that HE NOW WALKS AT A MUCH SLOWER PACE. Almost like MINISTEPS. And only after half a day, his strength skyrocket to 90%. So i theorise that the game follows a formula; strength = weight x "# of steps".

So its not the distance, but the number of steps. With that trick, the creature takes more steps, while travelling the same amount of distance. Thats why a small creature can increase strength after only one round around the island, whereas a giant creature can walk back and forth with no avail.

Thanks Sparks! :yourock:

I'm trying to get Taurus' strength up, and stay up (he's a cow).

My problem is this. He gets it and loses it fast. So it's almost not worth training it feels like.

If I have him train frequently, will his rate of decay on his strength eventually drop? (that is he'll lose it slower if i train him frequently?)

I heard that cows were weak. But I didn't think it was that bad. Most creatures should retain their strength if they keep active.

Except in CI that is. :rolleyes

Apparntly they are the weakest creature in the game. I don't beleive that my self but you never know...  :suspect

They do have a good standard move pool though.
