Trouble with mouse sensitivity and creature interaction!

Hello! It's been a while since I was on this forum, but I recently got Black and White for my new gaming computer - previously I played on my Mac. I'm having some trouble with the mouse sensitivity during creature interaction. While the mouse works perfectly fine with everything else, with my creature I inevitably end up slapping him hard and abusing him, even when I'm trying to gently pet him! The hand seems to jerk and move very quickly. Because of this, it takes me forever to pet him because I have to do so so slowly and carefully. Does anyone else have this problem and/or know a solution? I've tried changing mouse speed through the control panel for Windows, tried messing around with the options and graphics settings, but nothing seems to make a difference.

I'm on windows 7 64 bit. I have it installed through Program Files x86 with other games, and while I've read that it apparently can lead to issues, I haven't experienced any of the other typical problems others get. It works wonderfully except for that one issue.

Thanks for any help!

Have you tried messing with the in-game mouse settings?  ???
Another thing you could try would be to get some cleaning alcohol on a cotton ball/q tip and rub your mouse's laser/track ball.

There isn't really much for the settings, I'm afraid, although cleaning the mouse might be a good idea. :P It is a bit old. And sorry, I should have clarified - I'm playing the original Black and White, not the sequel. Anyway, for now I've just adjusted - it's annoying because I inevitably take ages to reward my creature, but at least it's not unplayable.

Bit late but B&W 1 can have a lot of issues with Vista/7 and now 8.

In the main B&W folder is Setup.exe use it. Select Custom  and set everything to MAX.
That will cure 99.9% of frame rate or mouse issues. :D

Derp, I forgot to read the Board Title on my previous post.  My bad.  :upside

Give Grem's suggestion a try and let us know how it went.

That did help, Gremxula, thanks! :D It can still be a little funny at times, but for the most part it works fine and I can handle it. Much appreciated!
