I'm new to the forums, so I hope this topic is in the right section. Anyway, here's my problem - I have the Feral Interactive port of Black and White 2 for the mac, and the fur isn't showing up at all. I've browsed through fixes and tried changing the graphics config file, but to no avail. Most of the time, the game hardly changes at all when I change the numbers in each column to higher or lower settings, and the options that are grayed out haven't opened up no matter what I've done. The only effect I've noticed is if I delete the entire graphics/config text in the file, in which case the game doesn't work, so it isn't just ignoring its existence. (And yes, I have bak up saves.)

Has anyone else had this particular difficulty on a Mac or Feral port? I'm no computer whiz, but I'll do my best to follow clear instructions and fix the problem. Here's the info of my graphics card, and much obliged for any help.

Chipset Model: ATY,RadeonX1600
Type: Display
Bus: PCIe
PCIe Lane Width: x16
VRAM (Total): 128 MB
Vendor: ATI (0x1002)
Device ID: 0x71c5
Revision ID: 0x0000
EFI Driver Version: 01.00.068

Hi, welcome to our forums and sorry for the slow reply.

Have you tried adding a line for the X1600? It should be similar to the one for the X600.

If a card isn't defined, it wil default to the lowest graphics setting.

That's aright, I'm just glad to get one! :P I did try that, but nothing happened. Is it possible the Feral port of BW2 somehow changed the graphics config file so it can't be changed to effect the game?

Oh, hey, you're a fellow Canuck! *High-fives*

I don't know how the port works. But if the game crashes without the graphics.config file in place. I would think that at least it is looking for it. I would assume that a MAC recognises the graphics card name as being X1600.

Are there any other config or setup type files left by the port? Also look in the saved games for any configuration info.

Yep, another Canuck. There were a few posting here at one time.  Where are you from?

I've looked, but I couldn't find any other files save the one on BW: BotG. Where would the saved games file be? I can't find it. (Is a newb. :P)

I'm from Ontario, but I grew up in the Maritimes. You?

It is the Graphics.config file in the data folder which you are trying to edit.

For Windows the saved games are kept in the My Documents folder. Don't quite know for a Mac. I know it was mentioned at one time in another thread.

Lived most my life around Ottawa. I do like the Maritimes though.

Didn't make a difference, unfortunately. Ahh, well. I've beaten the game, now - trying to figure out how to mod it so my creature is tip-top shape, emotionally and physically. (Instead of always getting bored or being depressed.)

The B&W2 creature is not something that you should have to worry about. He is what he is!
You have to go back to the original game for good creature interaction they were like real pets. The graphics are poor by today's standards the training was difficult but  a well trained pet was worth the hard work.
For me and many others  the B&W2 robot was just not as good as the real thing.

I agree completely - it's so obvious with creatures in BW2 that they're just programs. I adored my creature in BW, and the interaction and teaching was fantastic. *Sighs* I've been trying to find Black and White for mac, but no luck yet.

I worry about the BW2 creature because I tend to get caught up in building, and while I'm building or dealing with enemy armies, he gets bored or depressed very quickly. And he doesn't feed himself, or a least very rarely. I usually keep him on the 'free will' leash - I miss the Fluffy Leash of Compassion! XD

I prefer the BW1 creature system over the BW2 system. There were more creatures, They acted like a missionary in taking over villages, and Fights the other creature to defend the village or defend himself to take over the village.
