Starting new game with old creature

Hey, I've recently started playing again, and got through a ton of creature training. I'm really happy with my creature now, but I made the choice to skip straight to the creature selection, and I forgot that it makes some of the fun quests on the island unplayable as well as a neat thing where if you wait until after the vortex appears to do the singing stones challenge, you can huck as many of them into the vortex for artifact-making purposes (they respawn).

As I really don't want to train my creature up again, how can I restart story mode with the same creature?

I don't think that's possible, but, there's a Last Land option which will let you go back to the land you went before.

On the patched game.
When you restart select the keep your old creature tick box,  as simple as that.
On the unpatched game it sis still possible but will involve  a few file edits.
