Sorry this might be a stupid question

Hey there,

Played the original Black and White yeeears ago, and thought the turtle creature kicked ass..

So, If I swap my creature for the turtle, and finish the game with it, can I then start a new game using the turtle?  

Also, once you finish the last land, can you continue to play on it? As in after beating the enemy god you can just muck about on that land?

Just ordered both Black and White games for about 9 pounds

Yep, after finishing the game you can keep your turtle, and it will retain its personality and everything you've taught it.
I'm pretty sure you can just mess around on the last level once it's finished, too.

Remember, you will have to have updated to 1.2 to get the option "keep creature" when pressing "Start new game"

I built a Tibetan village that covered the whole Land after beating the game. My game took ten minutes to load all of the buildings and ran slow, though. That was the first time I beat it.
