hi there,

i just wondering why it takes so long, ok every little thing (like villagers, stones, trees etc.) must be saved in right position and all that.

1- 3 minutes ? i understand that it takes so long by the time the games released, but now?

i first used to play b&w in 2001 with a pentium 2 @400Mhz it was the hell in the second land now im glad it runs very smoothly  :woot

The Save and Load gets worse the longer you play a land and the more you change it, i.e. the building of new houses, the large population of villagers, etc.

This becomes most evident in CI where the whole game is on the one land.

Pratically speaking, the game is recording all the changes you have made to the land from it's initial set up.  Therefore the more you change, the more it has to save.

Having a better machine always helps, but at the end of the day, it's the performance of the game engine and the save/load code specifically that will get you.

i see, i only hoped my better pc today solve the problem  :(

at least i deactivate auto-save which is much better now :)

Some of the save file are a fair size. I'm thinking that the game needs to use the harddrive as a cache to build the information. Although the harddrives are much faster than the older drives this is still a slow proccess.
