Hi I'm new here (obviously since this is my first post) been haunting the site for a couple days. Anyway I want to make some minor mods to scripts and stuff like that but after trying I have a few questions;

What does the "Set_Computer_Player_Creature_Like" command do? it sounds useful.

Does it work to rename one of your own creature's (or a download's) mind files to be used by the AI gods in story mode? I already tried to use Lethys' creature as my own (in order to modify it to make it tougher) and found that it seemed to make my saved game data and other creature files unreadable.

How do you create or modify a script for online play?

Finally should I ask for permission before putting out levels containing downloaded creatures or modified versions of other peoples scripts?

Please help me out :help

Hi. :)

"Set_Computer_Player_Creature_Like" sets the size of the computer player's creature.

I've never used Lethy's creature and always perfered to use a known creaturemind file. Either one of my own or one from the downloads.

A tutorial on how to make an online map.

You are best to ask permission first. However most people responsible for a lot of mods and such are either no longer active or even online. If they can't be reached or found, I'm sure that if you gave them credit, that would be good enough

Thanks for the help. Just one thing; I think you misunderstood my question about the computer gods' creatures, I wasn't asking about using it as my own I wanted to know if substituting one of my creatures for them to use in the game would work properly or if it would mess up the game like when I tried to use Lethys' creature as my own. The only reason that I even tried using his creature to begin with is that I wanted to give him additional training then put him back in so as to make the game more challenging/fun.

By the way, if anyone knows a way that I could actually make the computer creatures mine please tell me since I'd prefer modifying the existing creatures to making new ones just for this purpose (if substituting for the comp. creatures is even possible).

Also, unrelated to the creatures, is there a guide for the map script commands that is considered the most complete, I've been using the Express Map Editor guide but it has several incomplete sections, thanks for the help.

And finally I just noticed in one of the topics that someone figured out the code for the quest scripting. I thought that no one was able to edit the quest stuff but apparently I was wrong. So, does anyone know how I can work on these files, there were a few things I wanted to try that I gave up on thinking it was impossible to edit stuff other than the lands and map scripts. Please if anyone has this info I would love to get it.

I think I only partially misunderstood you. They are usually added to maps. Never tried to add them in game. I don't know if it is possible but you could try. It shouldn't mess things up. (I think).

The mapping guide is also available for download. It might be a bit more updated.

Thanks, since you've never thought about changing creatures in the main game I'm going to assume no one has done it. So I'll just have to experiment with giving the computer gods new creatures myself and if I find anything interesting I'll post my findings.
I'm not sure if you started your post before my edits or not but either way the two questions I added are ones I'd really like to know about, especially the one about quest scripting; I have some cool ideas to make levels more interesting by adding in randomised events such as the appearance of extreme storms and other chaos inducing elements.[br][br]Added: [time]1234387281[/time]Sorry about the double post but I can't edit the old one. Anyway didn't notice that you actually answered one of those two questions already but the link you gave me is the same guide that I've been using and it definitely has some commands that could still be filled in like Set_Computer_Player_Creature_Like and the weather system commands.
After testing out changing the LethysCreature mindfile it appears to be totally unnecessary, although it may have something to do with scripted actions. So if the game runs fine without that file what file actually contains the minds for the computer creatures?

The file size on that creaturemind file is rather small, so it's not that smart. Chances are that it's controlled by the game engine.
