Sounds interesting :) I haven't played B&W on Hamachi for a while, but i might start again. I lost my creature though :( Oh another thing, the 1.3 patch is for the P5 glove, and if you haven't got that accessory it can make your game buggy. The patch that most people use for multiplayer is 1.2, and players with the 1.3 patch can't play with these people. I reccomend getting the 1.2 patch!

To be fair, I've heard from a number of Hamachi users that 1.30 is the patch used to play Multiplayer these days.

Don't ask me how the bugginess of the game has disappeared in the absence of a P5 glove, but this is what I've been told :rolleyes .

Yes the 1.3 patch is used  by most new players.

The odd thing is the v1.3 patch is just totally useless for  most players except to give compatibility to other 1.3 users as so few have  the P5 glove.
The only thing the 1.3 patch can do is  break the game if  you don't get the P5 manufactures DLL to allow the game to work again. Not that it really matters these days as virtually all have PC's that are well over spec for the game and the wasted CPU cycles  checking for the state of a non existant glove can be ignored.
Lionhead even released a patch remover for those who mistakenly installed v1.3 it reinstated the game  to 1.0 in the beta release but at least it  cured Lionheads problem of 1000's of broken games.  As Lionhead said  at the time DO NOT USE THE V1.3 PATCH  UNLESS YOU HAVE YOUR P5 GLOVE INSTALLED.
If Lionhead thought  the 1.3 patch solved any problems  then they would have said so sometime in the last 7-8y and made the DLL available  for download from one of the official sites..

I would if I were to play MP again probably avoid  the  1.3 players as the games don't usually have the win conditions set up correctly and play to the death as in skirmish., with a much too long a time limit.
Often the games go on for so long that one or another drops  out and the both players get a bit annoyed at that. That's I think why  the MP scene is so dead.

From recent experiences. (a couple of years ago now )  1.2 players are much more likely to play to defined win conditions like "largest influence" or what you want from the 1.2 readme  and a 1 or 2 hour limited game.

To play Devil's advocate for a moment, if someone is keen for some MP action and the remaining online players all say for 1.3 to be installed if they wanna play, whether the patch does anything or not is surely an academic point at that stage.

The new player is kinda forced into getting the patch whether they like it or not :( .
