Mods that change story mode?

Is there any alternate story mode or one that makes the game more challenging?
I feel there is no real threat during the game, except for the beginning of land 4, so i wondered if there is a mod or something for the story.

I don't know if such a thing exists, but you may try to do create some challenges to yourself
I remember that in my first run I had no idea how powerful wonders were, and I remember I had a hard time to catch Nemesis' Aztec village.
Maybe you can try to do a no-wonder run ?

I am trying to find ways to make the gaame more balanced too, recently I tried a run using only one miracle (water) and it was quite refreshing
Makes you appreciate the celtic wonder to spare wood

Now it would be really nice to be able to create story modes, I liked stuff like sharing a map with Khazar and Lethys
