Misc quirks about teaching your creature pet...

There's a couple of queries/questions that I like to ask that I cannot find the answer to from the FAQs.

1. My creature poops a lot frequently. Can we teach it not to poop a lot (ie. whenever we get the "your creature wants to poop" we prevent him from doing it by distracting him doing other things)? Otherwise, how do we teach him to poop in the sea/water? Whenever I BROWN ROPE teach him on water, he just drinks. I tried making him poop in the fields but he poops on the houses attached to the farm fields instead.

2. My creature is getting fatter coz he keeps on eating whenever he's merely 5% hungry. If he eats and I slap him, I get the message that he won't eat that sort of thing again. I rather him not eat until say, 80-90% hungry. How do we make our creature lose weight?

3. My creature sleeps a lot too. I rather him sleeping when he's 80-90% tired. Do we have to keep them on the leash (PURPLE/COLOURFUL ROPE) to keep them busy at work in order to burn fat and eat less? I left my creature alone for long hours.. hoping he grows large in which he did but also grew fat.....

4. Shame there's no thirsty meter level. But I guess it's not important as hungry.

5. I've been trying to create artifacts by throwing gigantic rocks (like dud singing stones) in the village. The villages just wow but don't dance around the stone. Is there a limit to how many artifacts can be created within a level or at any time? I think I already have 2 or 3 artifacts but they were small stone and the beach ball (both created implicitly when I didn't mean to).

6. I really like the beach ball, teddy bear and rolling dice from level 1. It's cute when my creature returns the beach ball, teddy bear and dice to his pen (house). However recently he threw them very far and I nor him can find them again. Is there some way to locate them? Ie editing/hacking the map file and changing their locations back to the pen? I like to transfer them to the next levels.

Hi, welcome to our forums. :)

1/ Just distract him or give him a light slap whenever he wants to poop. Especially if in the wrong spot. Just don't pet him for pooping.

2/ Again, distract him when he wants to eat. One way to get his weight down is to get him to pick up the largest rock he can and get him to run around the island carrying it. Keep him running until the weight is down to what you want. Great trick to build strength also.

3/ When he's young it's good for him since he grows faster when asleep. Especially in his pen.

4/ True, but it's a minor detail which doesn't have a great effect on his health.

5/ It takes a while to happen and the larger the object the longer it takes. Try a single rock for a start.

6/  If it's lost it's lost. You can try writing it into the map file for the next land.

Cheers Kays for the tips. You certainly sure there's no hack/edit for the save files? I assume the location/positions of all items are in each save file.

Lost? You mean the game deletes it when it's of no use anymore.. ie far away and hasn't been interacted with in a while? Usually I still see lots of poop in the shallow water/sea... but I think anything throw into the deep sea is lost forever......

I think the (2x) beach ball & teddy bear were given as rewards from throwing stone and troll silver quests in level 1. Though I don't know where my creature got this red dice from... any ideas? Anyway, how can I make it appear in the next level like if I transfered them from level 1?

I started playing B&W again from a backup (creature mind, saves & registry). Previously I had stocked up on miracles (strength, heal, water, food, lightning - just drag them off the pedestal). However during this game through I notice my creature likes to pick up a miracle (from the ground, not from the pedestal).... walks with it for a bit then it mysteriously disappears (and I get the system message, 'your creature lost the thing he was holding').... is this a bug?[br][br]Added: [time]1266863021[/time]Strange... I lost the EDIT button...

anyway, Kays I just realised there's a Creature Cave forum that I think my thread would be more suitable there. Possible moving my thread there?

Quick query: If I did level 2 for a couple of quests... then loaded a level 1 save... would my creature still have the mindset that he built from level 2? coz I notice the creature mind file is just one file.....that grows and grows and grows...

It's there somewhere but the ball is either stuck somewhere or floated off. One way or the other your creature doesn't have it so it's lost.

As I mentioned before that it is possible to add objects to a game map. But you will need to enter that map fresh and not from a save. You try going back to see if it will reappear. I forget if it's avalable in another quest on Land. Another option is to add it to the file created to log what goes though the vortex.

The dice came from the creche, I think there's two of them. You can zoom right into the creche to see what is in there. Try putting it through the vortex if you want to keep it.

However during this game through I notice my creature likes to pick up a miracle (from the ground, not from the pedestal).... walks with it for a bit then it mysteriously disappears (and I get the system message, 'your creature lost the thing he was holding').... is this a bug?

A wrong message maybe. Which happens on occasion. A creature will  learn a miracle a bit if you just hand it to him and I think the same applies if he picks a miracle bubble up. However the miracle bubbles can just dissapear if not handled properly so it could be true. There's usually that puzzled look on the creature's face when that happens.

He should remember what he learnt if you do return to land 1. The same goes for skirmish and playground maps if you use them.

There is a one hour edit limit which is why the edit buttom dissapeared.
