Land 5 Glitch (Fixed)

In Land 5, there's two totems that are supposed to un-curse the Skeleton village. So whenever I was on my way to get the final Guardian Stone, I brought my creature along with me to help. Whenever I was finally able to steer the furry little bugger up to the village, I got the Leash of Learning and clicked on the other totem. He walked up and stared at it, but didn't do anything, because I forgot to teach him how to use the Village Center. So I clicked on the ground to lead him back to the village so I could teach him, but he didn't move, the yellow tag didn't show up, and there was no clicking sound like there usually is. He only moved when I clicked on an entity, but he would no longer interact with the map, and wouldn't go through animations,(like pointing at something.) And he wouldn't do anything until I finally re installed the game.(Restarting didn't work.)
My friend suggested patching the game, but I got a message that said that a file with the same name and data was found, but couldn't be installed.
Any help is appreciated, though I'm in no hurry to get it fixed, so feel free to take your time if you so wish.

Go though ALL the steps in  Cowgods guide for a clean reinstall.

I find the easy way to do the totems is as you do leash the creature to one as you did. Then repeatedly  lift the totems in turn after a short while your pet will at least hold his up while you lift the other.

Hi, I was reading your problem and the best thing that you can do to avoid issues like that one (and trust me I talk with experience, because i had a lot of issues too)  is to install the game in a pc with windows xp or a virtual machine with windows xp because xp is way more compatible that seven or vista, if you don't know how to deal with a virtual machine send me a personal message or google it, hope it helps.

First you must try what Gremxula tell you to do, but in my experience the game is problematic with seven or vista, like for example some of the addons or even sometimes the system doesn't work well with the patches. But before you try with a virtual machine check if your pc can handle a virtual machine.
