I change from Chimp>Lion every once in a while, but I usually go on lion. Here's the deal.

Creature stares at food.

Creature picks up food.

'Your creature has lost the item it was looking for.'

Creature stares at food.

Creature throws food away.

It sucks D: So because of that, I have to hand feed him.

So, two questions; how to get him to eat independently and how to stop him from doing that. I have all of the patches which apply to my computer.

I had the same prob.
Extremely annoying!
After a creature switch all you have to do is restart the game, then he'll eat!  :)

Well, are you using a creature changer, or have you completed Creature Isle?  ???

Creature changer.

I have CI, but it can't run on this here Win7 OR my vista...or my XP, which is now in a trash can.

I think you can make him at least pick up food with the leash of learning.
When he throws the food over his shoulder, is he hungry?
Also, I don't know much about creature changers (I'm a Macintosh user) so I suspect it could be a glitch.

Yeah, he's hungry and it seems like the only way to get him to eat is by sticking the leash in there (how is that even possible?)

Often the creature will only learn to forage and eat for himself when you click on food with the leash, and when he's picked it up, make him eat it. If you feed him by hand, he will learn to think "when i'm hungry i will wait for my god to feed me".

SkelApe:
That's what I was trying to say, but I didn't explain quite as well.  :)

Also, I think it would be best to do, as SkelApe said, with the learning leash.
If you do that while on the compassion leash,
he will (if he knows the water miracle) most likely water the field.
If your question is how to attach the leash to a field you just double click.
How that is physically possible I don't know.  :laugh2

My Sheep has always had a problem eating grain, but he can fish for himself. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to have the right nutritional balance and he always ends up skinny, so then I have to hand feed him grain until he puts the fat back on.

The joys of Creature ownership :laugh2

Black Curtains:
Have you tried feeding him cows or horses (they usually generate a lot of fat) to put the fat back on?
Or does that seem odd having him eat other barn animals?  :laugh2
I had to watch my tiger's weight because he snacked on only one horse!
Tigers look ridiculous/stupid when they are over weight.  :shocked

LOL, it sounds like this is the official food forum now!  :laugh2

Anyway, I will try that, I never knew how to make them forage for themselves!
