Okay, so i just installed B&W2. I used the tiger unlocker (german) and installed patches 1.1 and 1.2. I press new game on my file and it loads for a second. Then my computer comes up with the blue screen for 5 seconds, it reboots. On the Xp (By the way im using xp) loading screen it loads for a second then stops. I have to reboot to get the computer back on. Please help. I will currently make a new file and see if that helps.

If you already created a 'account' so to say on BW2, and THEN you patch... You kinda didn't read the readme files  :happytears:  :yes

Create a new account, and it should work... I guess.. :-/

Not sure anymore.. since... >.> I have 'lost' my BW2 CD's, thus I can't test.

Try moving your old profiles out of My Documents and restarting from scratch.

Ill try, but i made a new profile and it didnt work. Come up with some more solutions please. Ill tell you if it works/

The main folder has a file which defines your screen resolution and user preferences. I'm wondering if there's a problem with it.

By moving it out of My Documents, it will force the game to create a new one. If that works, you can move all of your profiles into the new folder and you can use them then.

okay kays, i just reinstalled it and nothing happend. IT has no patches or anything. Is the folder your talking about called settings or cache? Ill try what your talking about, but it should work since i reinstalled. :suspect

No, the Black & White 2 folder in My Documents. That's where all of the saves are kept.

I tried reinstalling it. Didnt work. I tried taking out the file Black and White2. Didnt work. I tried making new profiles. DIdnt work.
Heres the problem. It loads the game. Its at the point where you choose profile. Then i press new game, it loads like 2 squares then it reboots my computer to the blue screen and then reboot.

And that's with both patches. ???

Are the CDs clean?

Is this a new PC orr were you able to play BW2 on it before?

The only thing I can think of is to uninstall the game, delete all of the folders, defrag that hard drive and then reinstall. Don't use the tiger unlocker until you know you can boot the game. Just the patches.

Its without the patches. I tried before with the patches and they didnt work either.
And it should work because its my dads old computer and i was able to play it.

The patches do have a fix for a similar problem.

And it should work because its my dads old computer and i was able to play it.

I agree, so why doesn't it? ???

The only thing I can think of is to give it a good anti-virus and spyware scan to make sure it's clean. and to defrag that drive when the game is completely uninstalled. Which means manually deleting all of the files after the uninstall. Not the profiles, just the game files.

Windows can get lazy and not copy a file over if there's one already in place. Even if you delete that file, it's still there and window will just make it reappear. By doing a defrag, you change the position of the files on the hard drive forcing windows to copy all of the files over from the CD.

I can't guarantee that this will work but I have had this happen to me on several occasions with corrupted files on several apps. :rolleyes

I havent defragged in a while. How do you do it again?[br][br]Added: [time]1195937045[/time]nm i figured out how

K i just defragged. Should i install the patches before making a profile or after?

Do the patches first. That profile won't work afterwards.

Sorry, but I'm all out of ideas for now. Especially if it worked before. ???

What's changed on that PC between now and the last time you had the game installed?

nothing i guess. I know it doesnt do with the video card, because usually it would say at installation, your video card sucks, go home. So im all out of ideas. Nothings really changed. I did try once after (this was after it worked, i uninstalled it and tryed to install again.)  and it didnt work
[br][br]Added: [time]1195969911[/time]I wana play so badly!! :cry[br][br]Added: [time]1195970983[/time]K so i tried putting every video thing to low or off and nothing worked. It might be the graphics card but i doubt that would completely reboot my computer.. Im not sure. Ive tried many things

Perhaps your OS (I prosume Windows XP) Just dislikes BW2...

I mean.. 'nothing changed' means you had BW2 on your PC before.

Was it on this instalation of XP? If so.. Try it on an other computer with the same 'specs'.

Sometimes.. XP really hates BW2.. for some reason.. :-/

:-( I hate it when Im not making any sence..

Ah well!  :woot

I will stop posting in this topic.. since..I ain't being constructive... And.. I can't think of anything else...
