Welcome to the very  :angel guide to black and white, but of corse, there are tips for being  :devil too.

1. Y O U R    H A N D

There are many ways to play Black & White, most of them involving you hand, either throwing or picking stuff up, your going to need your hand to survive in this difficult, warlike eden. We'll start by learning the basics of throwing....

TOP THROWING TIPS/HINTS:

1. Throwing techniques - Move hand smoothly for fast, close-to-ground throws, move hand fast for tall, short throws.
2. Aftertouch - Move your hand after throwing to influence the last thrown object while it's in the air.
3. If all went wrong, catch in mid-air

Alright, that's the throwing part, now for the easy part, dropping. Pretty simple, just drop the held object without any force.

2. Y O U R    C R E A T U R E  A N D  Y O U

With your creature, you can pretty much influence him to do what you want HIM to do, or let him do his own things, your choice.

To see what your creature is thinking, hold your mouse above him, it'll tell your his mood. Another way is to see what action he does, pretty simple. To punish him just move your hand other him and with the action button held down, slap him, do it gently to praise him. If you just leave him, his actions will be influenced by what you do.

There are three leashes, the Leash of Learning (he will be free to do what he wants, allowing you to punish and praise him for diffrent actions) Leash of Compassion (Same as before, only more good) and Leash of Agressiveness (Diddo). A quick way to train your creature is get your leash of compassion and send him to the nearest town, don't worry, he will learn.

Being good on BW1 is alright, but being evil is lots more fun!  Fires, explosions, lightning, rock barrages, pitching practice, drowning, creature snacks, etc.  There's so much to do to your teeny tiny villagers!  Torch the town!!

Remember, when being attacked by someone armed with raspberries, RELEASE THE TIGER!!!!  (Monty Python, "Defense Against Fresh Fruit"

Remind me, what is the defense against bananas?

Certainly, the most important thing to remember while playing Black and White is that it is always easier and more entertaining to torture and hurt people. Also, the Highlander on Land Three has many uses. As do sheep.

3. Land Guides

LAND 2:

TIPS:

1. Be patient.
2. Experiment.
3. Be good at throwing long distances.
4. There buildings are close together - throw fireballs!!!
5. Don't do the temple minigame, waste of time.

LAND 3:

1. Use that invincible man as influence.
2. There is no creatures to annoy you in the beginning.
3. Dont do that following minigame, it's a waste of time.

The fastest way through  the game is not good or  evil just efficient use of resources.
AS L3 is just mentioned, here's the way I have played it  for speed (about 60-90m)
.
I almost always use artifacts on this land and a few other tricks...
.
OK to start help build the village up NO NEED for scaffolds just supply wood to the building sites, except a field or 2 near the store. when the building slows down or you have plenty of wood in the store, don't forget the wood miricle dispencer at the base of the waterfall ....
You should now have enough influence to just reach the Japanese villages fields  and place an artifact.  Cast a few "good" miricles  at the dancers/filelds. The village will convert quite quickly.
..
Now build up the Jap village  make a workshop the first building. Collect enough  scaffolds from the workshops to make a TC (Town Centre). Your influence should now  allow you to reach the GURU's mountain, grab a Red/yellow spots mushroom with the invincible man you are ready for the next phase. But first  reach out and place  an artifact in the Indian village's fields.
..
This trick gets you influence on th main village at the far end of the Island..It will take some practice  but is worth it.
From the edge of your toss the scaffold toward the main village, now toss the Invincible man toward  the scaffold( just past and to the left works best). Quickly grab and toss the scaffold  nearer the target while it is still within the influence of the man.
Repeat until you can place a scaffold  on the outskirts of the main village.
This next evil act counts as good take the  mushroom up to the TC dropit  and again use the man but this time to place the mushroom  in the enemy store.
If you really don't want to poison the whole town so it will be vacant or nealy so  when you get there  an alternate is to place an artifact and either wait or Kidnapp villagers it its  a fast way to build up a population.
..
Take the Indian village  is the next step  but this will be taken back by wolves .
So either empty the village  or  prepare  for the wolf attack. I like to kill the wolves so I bookmark  a spot  quite a way north of the village about as far past the hedge as the TC is south. Convert the village, the instant it converts select and shake off Lightning this leaves it ready for instant access on the R key and save.
After  the cutscene , press the bookmark number and then press R....Zap the wolves  with a controlled  Tap_Tap on the mouse do not hold the button down. If you kill all the wolves  continue  or load up the save.
...
I think that's enough  the next town is already dead or dying  and the land almost won....
...
OK so you got the main town and your creature back the quick and easy way to destroy the last town is  fire rocks..
Refill the town with villagers  so your influence is over his temple  drop a rock in the creature pen and tap to break it many times , usually chuck in a tree or 2 as well. with a nice layer of tiny rocks  add a fireball.
That should see the end of this land :D
.
Hope you like this quick method it is actually fairly suitable  for good  gods as it only uses  2 evil miracles  and you can get the same evil hit from  ignoring  a worshipers needs for about 5m.

I think my way works faster. It's in the Walkthroughs/FAQs, and, as Brother Thizda has suggested, employs the Highlander for a ring of influence to entirely avoid Lethys' acts of violence. It is also possible to use the same method to be good, but takes a bit longer. The evil method I use only takes ~15 minutes. Land 2 can be completed quickly by attacking Khazar (converting his villages) for leverage, then just attacking Lethys normally. Use of the Creature is null, as on Land 3. This takes me about 10-15 minutes, typically. Land 1 can of course be skipped. Land 4 is nearly impossible to play by protecting your village; Instead, use the creature to quickly convert the Japanese village (my suggestion is to teach it Flock of Birds), then go immediately for the puzzles. The easiest one is the totem puzzle; It can be reached by placing x5 scaffolds to extend influence, or converting the little camp behind the mountain with the creature. The "Simon Says" bell puzzle is also easy. The hardest one is Keiko; For speed, I suggest just killing Adam. The rest is pie. Total time ~10-20 minutes, depending on how impressive your creature is.

Land 5 is a very routed land. Since, for a speed run, it is assumed that L1 was skipped, the extra village won't be considered here. It should be noted that the statistically best well-rounded creatures, the Lion and the Bear, are on this Land, if you waste time doing silver scrolls. Anyway, instead of taking the "normal" route (taking the Japanese village and talking to the prophet), go straight for the Tibetan village adjacent, before Nemesis converts it or your creature shrinks too much, making it difficult. Throughout this land, build up your village and make sure it has a high population, lots of food and 50% worshiping at any given time. Anyway, take away the Singing Stones telling your creature to ignore its wounds until it is done (always makes me feel bad; I have a soft spot for the creature, but this is necessary). Then just have your creature convert the village to destroy the wonder. Next, head over to the Japanese village; It is quicker to hurl Fireball Extremes over the mountains from the hidden dispenser than to use your creature. Like Grem said, a speedrun is not about Good or Evil, it is about Efficient. From there, give the same treatment to the second Tibetan village. Then do the rest as you will, I have no special strategy, except to make a double shield around the Greek village when the comets come instead of catching them, which is why I recommend such a focus on worship; Sacrafice is good for a short, strong burst, but a shield drains over time, and it is more efficient to have a bunch of worshipers. For the final creature battle, I suggest having a very strong, self-sufficient autofight creature. Mine doesn't even need assistance in the final battle. Total time: ~30-45 minutes.

Total total time: 1:05 to 1:50 HH:MM
