Creature says "I can't go there"

I appear to have boxed in my creature with my buildings, because when I tap the ground the creature thinks "I can't go there."  How do I solve this problem?

BTW, this is my first post in a long time, I just recently started playing BW2 again after getting frustrated with it when I first got it.

Hi Mary, it has been a while.

I think the solution here would be the same as with BW1. Either destroy some buildings or wait until he dies and respawns in his pen.

No problem just demolish a few buildings to let him out. "Snap Kays"
Then leave some space to the areas he has to access. I often packed my buildings in tight too.

Yes, fortunately there is the demolition tool this time.

I have had to destroy a few markets on occcassion but generally if you keep the buildings a bit back from the road, there should be enough space for your creature to pass.

I usually make a seperate area free from the town feo my creature. but i make sure the place looks nice

THat works but you can use the C/pen  as a influence  area expander. It gives  big bulges
