I'm trying to find out if Black and White Phoenix works with Creature Isle, since my group of player-folk are considering moving to it, if you can indeed play MP with it.

I know it can be done using Hamachi. Don't quite know about Phoenix.

Try it, the worst that can happen is that it won't work.

Hmm, well I have no way of testing it.  I'm the only one with the game, the others are deciding whether to buy it or not based on if it can be played online.

Well the only advantage to CI online is the crocodile i suppose. I have played it online before using hamachi, but i'd reccomend using BW1 the main game, since everyone else uses that for online.

The only reasons we have are minor, really.

1)  You get Tyke, which can be cool...
2)  I suspect you can build soccer pitches in multiplayer in CI since it's standard.
3)  Your creature can eat out of fields without puking...
4)  One of us can't update to 1.2 due to some awful bug, and CI doesn't have any patches, so it may allow him to play with us.

Ci uses the B&W game engine. So I suspect that B&W does need to be patched at the same level for all  players.

Oh, that's not good.

One of us is getting this error when trying to patch to 1.2, something along the lines of "Neither parameter found"?  I don't know the exact message...

I've not heard of that error before.

The standard thing to do is to backup any profiles using BWBackup. Uninstall the game and delete all of the files and folders in the game directory except for the  Data\Landscapes, Scripts\Creaturemind and Scripts\playgrounds folders. Then do a defrag of the drive the game is in. Then  reinistalll the game, patch it to V1.20 and then restore the profiles.

Well, it seems as though playing CI with BnW Phoenix is indeed not possible.
