On my path of self-enlightenment (i consider getting the rhino by someone elses means cheating, so to get it myself i found out how to do it myself manually), i discovered exactly how the creature changer works. Basically, a single digit determines the type of creature you have, and each creature has a different digit to define it from the last. For example:
Code:
!      ¿¾ƒ‚y’ Ù çÚ‹ÁJÃbÿ«»u   N e x a e

The is the digit that makes the creature a rhino. It is the fifth digit along, always. (note, this is an extract of computer text from a .erc mind file) To preserve the encoding of the file, which is all the settings to preserve the computer text, you need to open the file with a hexadecimal editor. Finding this out was pretty damn complicated indeed. I couldn't contact wally or cache, as their names are kinda withdrawn, so i had to take a number of approaches to find out.

And thats how i solved the age old question of "Is getting the rhino cheating?" I just did it myself, which made it feel right inside :p

That is interesting. I can see the actual number value which corresponds to the creature numbers in the mapping list.

Do they still loose knowledge if you do it this way?

Yeah, unfortunately the creature that is changed via this process still loses knowledge, just as with the creature changer. Although i have also found that if you want to change a creature without loss of knowledge, change it to the leopard first and then change the resulting leopard into the desired creature. A small hinderance, but at the price of knowledge preservation, you cant lose :p
