Not really a problem anymore, but I'm really confused why this happenend
I tried running BW2 on my computer, but it wouldn't run.
So I updated my RAM as it was too low, but it wouldn't run.
I then updated my graphics card and then it would run, but heres the confusing part.
Before I updated my card is was running on a Radeon X300, which should work after comfirming it with the .CONFIG file, yet I would install it fine and load the menu but when I tried to play the game it crashed giving me a BSoD and me having to force restart my computer. On this card I could run everything on high except Depth of Field and Distortion
Now when I updated the graphics card, the game loads and plays, but Blooming is completely grayed out. It's so annoying as all I've done is update the card, but its down graded my game, which should have run in the first place.
I don't mind running on low specs, I was just wondering if any of you have come across this problem before.

What's your new graphics card?

If it's not an ATI card then you should uninstall all of the ATI related progams and drivers before installing the drivers for the new card.

My new card was
"SAPPHIRE X300" and it had something on the end but I can't remember and I'm not got access to that computer for a few days.
The game runs, but I want to know why a new card has downgraded me, and why a card that should work doesn't

I can tell you why ATI cards usualy don't want to fire up.

BW2 requires the graphic card to support pixel shaders, and ATI sometimes has features, that arn't activated, or fully installed, so graphic.config may think your ATI card can do it, but your ATI card will say "BLuuhhh! I ain't doing that now!" resulting in Windows going "Ah my gawd!.. *dies*" resulting in the Blue screen of Death.

Incase the large text wall confused you; ATI was reluctant to use Pixel Shader

Your new graphic card may have become downgraded because the wrong software was used, or the incorrect software is still on your PC. try removing/uninstalling ALL graphic related programs.

(Your drivers, DirectX, and any other control program, For instance with ATI "Catalist Control Center")

Then reinstall your drivers, I suggest you try the CD, or mabey their own page, for the latest.
Then install DirectX 9.0d (or c.. I always forget what the latest for non Vista is.. )

Then try editing Graphic.config to set all to the highest posible. (3 1 3) for ALL graphic cards that may resemble your name, mostly at ATI its not the card that gives the 9600 or the 9800 number, its the software. (I know.. weird.. but its what happens. )

And if I didn't make ANY sense at all, just ignore me ^-^

The X300 does have pixel shaders 2 but it is a slow card.

Try doing as suggested above and then install the latest Catalyst drivers. Below is a link to a listing of drivers by operating system.
