I insert the CD, and click on the install button and an error message pops up instantly. It says "An installation support file could not be installed. The docfile has been corrupted." I have tried exploring the disc and clicking the setup directly, but it didnt work. I have also tried changing/updating installshield, as i think that is the problem. Can anyone tell me why this message comes up and how i should go about fixing it?
Thanks,

Ugh, I can't find anything useful on Google about it.  It's all related to random microsoft products (and not installshield, that I can see.  At least, the bottom part of the error message)

What version (x86 or x64) version is your OS and does it have SP1? (I'm just wondering if it's another Vista problem no one's run into yet, but I doubt it)

And if there's a way to check the CD for errors you know of, try that.  It could just be a corrupt CD.  Even something simple as trying to rip it to an image should tell you if something's wrong with the CD itself.

Im pretty sure its not a CD problem, i have 2 copies and both discs are in good condition, and work perfectly. Im definitely sure its not a vista problem, i have installed B&W on it before with no problems. If i search "An installation support file could not be installed." into google, alot of variations of that error message come up, all related to installshield so im almost certain its an installshield problem.

Oh.

I just removed that part from the search (the full string got nothing) and searched for the end ^^;

But yeah, can you install anything else?

Yeah, i can install other things. I think the problem is concerning B&W1 itself.

Have you used a registry cleaner to remove all the redundant links this can also stop B&W1 installing  a "fresh" game.

I have just used a registry cleaner that picked up about 500 problems :p. Unfortunately, it did not manage to fix the problem  :rolleyes

Ive tried a few other things like deleting the files in my temp folder, doing more registry cleans and trying to update installshield, but i still have this problem.
