I can confirm that BW2 will run in Windows 10...with one major caveat.
1) Install BW2 from CD into a non-default directory with a short name with no spaces, such as: C:\BW2
2) Install patches 1.1 & 1.2
At this point, even if you modify the compatibility settings for white.exe ("Run as Administrator" and "XP Service Pack 2" compatibility mode), the game will not run.
If you investigate your Event Viewer after a failed attempt to start BW2, you will find these events in your System log:
This SECRDV.SYS issue is causing problems with many older games, but Microsoft has not yet responded to the problem:

Alas, the only workaround seems to be to use a No-CD solution ("crack") to circumvent the problem. Once that is done, then setting the aforementioned compatibility settings on white.exe allows the game to run properly.
