Hello,

It's been a while since I've been here (maybe 2 years    :shocked) but I am going to try to get back into BW by next week.

I have been wondering several things:

1) Does anyone know how I can patch BW for OSX?
2) Is online play on OSX possible? (I may have asked this already but I don't remember for certain)
3) Is their a way so I don't have to play w/ the disc in?

You will require the disk to start up BnW - but if you have copied the music from the cd onto your pc (to the place where BnW is installed) You can remove the disk, once you see the 'main menu'.

The copying of the music is adviced, even if you want to play with disk, as it reduces loading time. The game was designed when memory was scarse. so music was kept on the cd, as of late, we can have it all on the PC / Mac, and even get a speed boost from it! :)

As far as I know, installing on a mac is just popping in the CD, but I could be wrong.

Online play is possible, but there is little online community. Hamatchi - a  virtual network program, is used for online play, sporadicly. I know there is a Mac version, that also allows communication with the Windows Version :)

And now for the first question. - I love answering backwards :p
Kayssplace has the only ever released Mac patch - which as I recall, is Windows patch 1.2 - it's called 1.1.1 I think. Here is the link;

You will also at some time look at the skirmish maps. Kayssplace has only  one.
But don't worry that is in fact wrong, all the maps will work on the Mac version of the game with a modern unarchiver that can handle  anyname .zip files.
The Mac only Map here is compressed to a anyname.sit file from memory and that file format is long out of date  exept the  very oldest Mac's running 5y+ old software only.

How would I connect to this program?

I-n-t-e-r-n-e-t
A simple search is all you need. Much faster and better  than waiting for a PC owner to try and sort out  your problem  on a  machine  he dose not know.
