I've been struggling with my Black and White install,
I recently upgraded from Vista to Windows 7, I had black and white running perfectly on vista and when I upgraded I saved all the profile information (however I did not realise at this point I needed registry info also)
Anyway I was trying to be clever so after installing black and white I made a new profile of the same name of one of the old profiles and then quit as soon as I could moving the old profile information back over, I then went to regedit and set the number of saves under that profile to 20 (there were saves up to number 20 in profile)
Suprisingly this worked, except the creature was invisible, glowing and existing with stats etc but invisible nonetheless.
Anyway I figured that problem would fix itself in time. The big problem came when I realise it wasn't saving properly, I remembered I had to fix this before by telling it to run as administrator, so I did so.
Sadly, ever since having done this, every time I uninstall or re-install or delete everything and every registry entry and re-install, no-matter the location I re-install to or what settings i run the game under, every time I start up B&W it starts up and then runs really, unbelievably slowly, then, even if I wait for 30 mins just to get to the first quittable point when I exit 3.9 out of 4 GB of RAM are being used.
Nothing I have tried has worked, whenever I start up B&W it runs like there is no ram at all and then when I exit, be it through force or through waiting for 30 mins just to get to the 'now drag your hand to move' bit and quit properly, the RAM is completely full!
I figure it's some sort of memory leak but I have no clue how to fix this, please someone help?
EDIT: Problem fixed, I ran setup and chose custom settings, for some reason leaving it on 'max detail' causes a huge memory leak.
