Hi. I have downloaded the official patches and the BotG and the normal game runs just fine, and i have ran the official and unofficial unpackers/stuffer and the landscape editor is in landscape folder but, when i try to launch the editor it pops up BW3dcore - error screen which says Fatal error.
What does it mean? wrong folder or some missing files? or just bad computer :p ?

I tried to look for similar problems but could only find graphic gard related issues.

I had a similar problem... never fixed  :no
I hop you have luck on this.

Is your game in the default location. If not you'll need to change the paths in the LH Unstuffer Batch.bat file in the unstuffer folder and then double click on it to run it. If it's working, it will take some time. Then you'll need to make the same changes to the LandscapeEditor.ini file in the editor folder.

What's youe operating system?

The unstuffer doesn't even work unless it's in the default location (or edited) though.

Although I suppose he might've run it and just closed it after it had errors, not reading them? :(

But yeah, if you're on Vista x64 (not sure about x86) the default location will be different and you have to edit it, so :(

oh yes the bat says C:drive

The game is on the D:/programfiles folder where the CD setup installed it and i have windows xp home edition 5.1  but the problem was , in the batfile like Kays said it was set to C: drive instead of D: what probably is because this comp has two hard-drives and it probably messed this up

thanks !  :)

and to Jaden, i readed the errors and it said "BW3dcore error" "fatal error" and capice the whole thing is gone. not that much to read from it really :rolleyes

The error most get when launching the editor and the paths aren't correct is "Failure to initialise 3D device"

So, it's working correctly now? ???

Vista64 the one  I have just  refuses to run  any of the old LH editing  software.
I have had the B&W core  error  3 times over this weekend  while  playing  BOTG this seems to have  been caused  by a lack of RAM,  It's my own fault  really  for giving  my G/card  access to upto an extra 1 gig of system ram when needed ,  this forced at times  an overload  Vista64 + BOTG in  less than a 1Gig, just don't work.
I hope this may  shed some light on  your problem.

yes its working fine now, made couple of test maps already, its quite hard to get used to making textures so that they don't look so messed up.

the fault was indeed in incorrect path, the landscape editor's bat text file thing, was directed to C:/programfiles etc. and the games and all the rest of the stuff are in D:/programfiles etc. so the bat was trying to read the data from a path that didn't even exist but its corrected now.

i have all the stuff unstuffed already, before i even installed the landscape editor, because i had done some texture editing to norse ppl and nearly all of the creatures, but i wanted to create sort of sandbox land myself and see what i can mess up with the editor and if its possible to create sort of "retexture it all mod".

but the problem is solved and it's working fine now,  I hope to soon make one decent map ready, those tutorials are quite handy.

thanks from the help!

it was not lack of hardware thistime at least not the computer's :D i should really drink less coffee  i guess -__-

(offtopic  :sorry how is the OGAM ship thing done? just if you know? its scripts after scripts i know that. but I'm curious of if there are meshes for those ship's .dds files? or did some one make the ships 3d or have i again missed something?  :suspect and I'm thinking if its possible that you'd take the data of the ships from BOTG[bonusland] and sling them to b&w2 data? have to try that, thats for sure  :rolleyes  :sorry)

Glad you got it working.

The model for the Norse ship is available. I used it in one of my maps.

Code:
oShip = create with angle 0 and scale 1.0 SCRIPT_OBJECT_TYPE_ROCK MOBILE_STATIC_INFO_NORSESHIP at {Location[Num]}
