Alright so ive been playin black & white 2 for awhile but not to its fullest. I want to know what's the cheapest card i could get that'd run this baby at 1280 x 1024 with full settings and at least  30fps. i already have a card in mind, would the 7900gt be good enough to get these kind of results?

Is this PCIe or AGP?

The PCIe cards are capable of more bandwidth than an AGP card. Now the 7900GT will get you what you want but it ain't the cheapest. I think a 7800 or 6800GT should get you a good frame rate and for much less.

My last AGP video card was a Radeon X850 Pro which gave a frame rate of about 24 fps for BW2 at 1024 x 768. On my new PC, which is PCIe, I'm using a Radeon X1900 card and get frame rates of over 30 fps at 1200x1024. Each of these cards cost me about $300 Cdn

Keep in mind that this speed  is also dependant on your CPU and system memory.

Pci-e also i got an athlon 64 2.2ghz and 1 gig. i am looking for the cheapest solution so do you think even as low as a 7600gt would produce the results i want?

I don't know if the 7600 will do. In looking at the specs on this page It doesn't have the bandwidth of the other cards, but if you look at the comparison list near the bottom of the page you will see that it ranks up there with the 6800GT and X800 which should be capable of doing what you require.

At the bottom of the page are links to performance reviews. It might be an idea to spend some time going through some of them to see how these cards compare to each other.

Alright thanks based on these two cards (price not involved) which is better

I'd go with the X1800. It ranks a bit higher than the 7600.

I've always used Radeon video cards and never had a problem with them. Plus your more likely to be able to play BW1 with a Radeon card should you wish to do so.
