hi, ive been wondering some things about the map editor...

1) How do you make a grassy texture? ive heard you need to place down a 1st texture thats muddy, then a second texture, the grass on top, but the outcome for me isnt good... Can anyone tell me some of the textures that i might be able to use? Ive included a picture showing you the result of my attempts.

2) How do you plan walls and roads without them being straight? ive tried checking the "planned" box in the editor and tried un-checking it, but it doesnt work!

3) Is it possible to remove a part of a transparent texture without taking the entire layer off?

Hope you can help me people  :p

Thanks

1/ Use a transparent texture for grass so you can place it om top of the base texture. Most grass textures do need to be coloured also since they are quite light.

2/ Planned buildings don't show until the script tells the game to show them. Never tried paths but it should be the same.

3/ Yes, you can remove a section of texture by using the right mouse button. The texture must be selected first.

1. Like Kays said use a transparent texture for the grass. These are usually anything ending with a .dds should work though they will have to bee coloured according to the terrain colour to look good.

2. Planned buildings show up as 'ghost' images almost. When creating a wall and paths to make them curved you hold down the CTRL button and click whilst still holding the key. To make them planned select then afterwards and tick the 'Planned box'. This will make the wall in the game but it will be fully built. To make it so it is still in construction used the 'Percentage Built' slider. You should still see the wall, building, path etc but also see through it.

3.To remove a texture from a certain are use the right mouse button. It acts like an eraser, but only for the selected layers.

That should be all. Hope it helps
