I recently got a new map from here and toyed around for a bit.. but then i realized that with it installed, and due to it editing the map.txt or whatever the filename was... I can't play any new games using the actual campaign, especially since my nub self let it overwrite the file, and didn't back it up.. Is there anything i can do to fix this other then just re-installing/re-patching?? :blush

First of all, it's not a noob question. :) The next thing is, that you probably have to delete the files that you downloaded in the .zip. I'm not very good at explaining, but I'll try. So please forgive me if it ain't the most helpful advice.

Open the .zip file you downloaded. There should be a "readme" file along with the other files for the map. The "readme" file that the .zip should contain commonly tells you what the file names is, and where they go for installation. Find the files, delete them, open the game and you should continue your current saved games.

I hope it helps!

Hi, :)

If this is for BW2 then the file you over-wrote is probably map.txt in the Scripts folder. Open it with notepad and replace the contents with this:

Code:
SET_LAND_NUMBER(1)
LOAD_FEATURE_SCRIPT(".\data\landscape\BW2\Land1.bwe")

When starting a custom map it's wish to do that using a new profile so your present one doesn't get overwritten.
